It is nice to be home again...
Even the foul smell emitting out of MaoMao and Guapi's litter box felt welcoming! :-)

Had the chance to visit Samsung during my trip to Seoul last week. Talk about security!! Samsung’s security is tighter than any airport security I’ve experienced, equivalent to that of the Pentagon’s.

Every piece of equipments had to be logged and examined before entering: USB cable, SMP cable, connectors, power plug, camera phones... ok, to be fair, not every piece of equipment, they left out my pen.

The laptop was the toughest to bring in, took a lot of convincing and reasoning. All the USB, LAN ports and CD-ROM had to be taped up so I won’t steal any Samsung secrets. Paranoid?

All the traveling is catching up to me a bit...
Feeling tired today...

Did a quick calculation while sitting through a way ran-over meeting this morning:
Time spend flying to Seoul and back to US: 26 hours
Time spent on to/from and waiting in airports: 11 hours
Time spend in Seoul: 41 hours

well, that's almost 1 hour in Seoul for every 1 hour spent in traveling! Not bad! :-)

I am on the move these days, last minute trip and impulse flying and definitely racking up frequent flier miles.

SJC -> SEA -> DFW -> ATL -> ICN -> SFO -> SAN -> LAS -> FWA -> DTW -> TPE -> PVG --- in 14 days

I arrived in Atlanta last night, for the forth time in the last three months. My clothes are still neatly packed in the suitcase, no point on taking them out since I will be taking off again tomorrow morning.

People told me that once you have a home, things will change; there is a lot of truth in that. Although I still enjoy the thrill of flying around, on-the-go lifestyle, I miss my home, I miss Vivian, and looking forward to chase Vivian and the cats around the house again...

Just heard from an old friend of mine today that Jill –– a middle/high school friend of ours, was recently kidnapped by Iraqis during her reporting assignment in the middle east. There is a deadline on her life, a deadline of tomorrow that was set by the Iraqis.

My prayer goes to Jill, hope she will join her family back in US, safely...

最近会经常感觉自己很孤独。

女人在参加宴会前常常会觉得自己少了一双完美的鞋子，我也时时的渴望自己能有一个交心的朋友。

薇薇是我的知音，生活中我们配合得很融洽，彼此很多方面上可以互补，我们携手创立了很稳定的感情基础。三年多下来，她更是我的亲人一般。但是温馨的亲情不能够完全取代友情，因此我还是会渴望刚才提到的“交心朋友”。

具体来讲，我也不是十分清楚这位“交心朋友”应该是怎么样的一个人。但我想他应该跟我差不多同一个德行吧？

This is the second year that I max out the Flexible Spending Account. Last year’s $3000 was for the LASIK, this year’s $3000 is for paying of the rest of the LASIK and allocated for some teeth fixing.

2006, the year of fixing! :-D

Actually it has been more than a week since my LASIK surgery. I went in for my one week post-operation check up this Wednesday 1/11. Dr. Furlong was very pleased with my recovery and so was I.

I did have some concern regarding to my vision, since the surgery, it was evident that my eyes would get tired easily, and after a long day in the office staring at the computer screen, my vision would blur a bit, it was especially more obvious in my right eye. Dr. Furlong assured me that this is normal, part of the recovery process and the vision should gradually stabilize. He advised me to use plenty of lubrication drops to “wash” the eye and provide enough moisture.

At the time of writing, I did notice the change in my vision has subdue a lot, I am no longer detecting much of variations in eye sight.

Next check up is scheduled for April...

However, in my dictionary, “Renaissance Man” is synonyms with “June”.

There are layers of friendship, among those exists a type of friend which you don’t have to upkeep on the daily basis, might not have talked to for years, and yet you can get on the phone and pick up where you left off from years ago.

June is one of those kinds of friend – a close to heart kind.

June and I went through middle, high school and college together, we even lived under the same roof for a year. He is quick witted, charismatic, calm and determined. I respect him dearly for his ultimate drive to help people. He excel not only in his quest to become a surgeon (he is currently in his 3rd year of medical residency), June is also a jazz protégé, a violinist, a martial art black belt and master of almost whatever he sets to do.

June is getting married this month; I won’t miss it for the world! Congratulation June + Janet!
