A|X

Speaking of Armani Exchange, my undying passion for it has not subdued. Despite the increased financial burden brought on by the mortgage payment, I am still donating Benjamins to A|X periodically. Although I no longer make spontaneous-out-of-the-way trips to A|X and drop few larges in exchange for their latest fashion items, I now do my ogling on www.ArmaniExchange.com instead, and use Student Advantage card to save 20% (yes, SA Card saves you 20% at A|X and no, I am no longer a student) to help justify my spending; see, I am being more matured about financial spending and suppressing my urges and desires for instant gratification, good job Jiaying!

But sometime life throws you a curve ball, and kicks the carefully trained discipline right out the door. The A|X store held a special event along with GQ magazine this past Tuesday; they served Hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and even planted a DJ behind the turn table. The kicker was: A|X was giving away free duffle bags with every purchase made on that day!!

I want that duffle bag!

When there is a will, there is a way. I dragged few others to go along, and as we were driving on 101 north heading to San Francisco on a Tuesday night, my mind was pondering: What the hell am I doing? Driving 80 miles round trip just for a duffle bag??

Jiaying and his A|XLadies and their bags

Nope, it was not just for a duffle bag, it was for two duffle bags!

Yup, I got two of them... :-)

Fire Drills

Fire DrillEveryone slacks off, and I am no different; I exercise the method of procrastination to its advanced level. At work these days, I have been asked to support a brand new set of products on top of my existing tasks; new product, new technology, new tools, new game... the new arrangement definitely dragged me out of my comfort-zone, although I doubt if there was ever a comfort-zone.

Ramping up on the new stuff is no easy task, especially when the “old” products require my constant attention. The old trusting procrastinating way of doing things can no longer be enjoyed; now it is all about prioritizing: pick up the hottest tasks, juggle them around until they cool down, set them down and then grab the next set... a constant fire drill would be a good analogy to describe my present situation.

Since it funds my mortgage, the car payment, credit card bill, lunch money and even my beloved A|X collections, this is one fire drill I need to continue actively participate in.

Life’s Peachy

PeachtreeSo I am in Atlanta this week and part of next week for business, although I am at all interested to scoop out the local sceneries, something here did got me intrigued -- What is up with all the “Peach trees”?!?!

Peachtree Boulevard
Peachtree Road
Peachtree Drive
Peachtree Circle
Peachtree Street

... as if this wasn’t enough, sometime they spicy it up a notch:

Peachtree Valley Road
New Peachtree Road
Peachtree Road NW

They even got a law firm called Peachtree!!

I guess they got good peaches here!

Yoga & Ballroom Dancing

Yoga Twist!Vivian looked up some classes offered at the nearby Mission College, convinced few of our friends, and now, every Monday night, we spend three hours learning Waltz, Cha-cha, Foxtrot, and on every Wednesday night, we bend ourselves in to hedonistic positions while chanting “nomesdai”.

Quite to my surprise, the dancing was rather fun, and the pretzel twisting yoga is fairly relaxing... I think I will keep them up!

But, don't expect me doing any pose like that on the right...

  • I was looking up what "nomesdai" meant and the only result i received lead me to your page. Do you know what it means? I'm asking because I started taking a Yoga class at my college and the teacher said to repeat "nomesdai" after the class was over. She said it was some kind of greeting. She said we can mean anything positive by it. What does it mean? thank you =]
