Black Friday - Fry's Electronics

Black Friday - Fry's

Now it is 3:30am the morning after Thanksgiving, two and half hours before the store officially opens, the line was already half way wrapped around this mega Fry's Electronics store on Brokaw Rd., San Jose!

On this day last year, after our big Peking Thanksgiving dinner at Bruce's, we went to Fry's six in the morning, the line was wrapped around the store, and then some... I guess 3:30am is still not early enough... ;-)

Mi Casa Es Su Casa

Hugging ToiletCome one, come all. Over the past month and half, we have taken in, entertained dozens of guest at our house: three ex-Shanghai Intel co-workers in two separate occasions, one current co-worker from Germany, Vivian’s dad and uncle, Jim and his wife, a new roommate, my U of Michigan buddies, Halloween movie night, big BBQ, mini-BBQ, random cookout… What can I say; Vivian and I are generous, loving friends. :-)

Jim’s recent visit with his wife Yuanyuan was quite interesting. During the four nights they stayed with us, I think he was drunk on three of those nights. First night, he passed out on the sofa after two glasses of red wine and a Tequila shot; second night, it was one tequila shot and two glasses of red wine; third night, it was one shot of tequila and… anyways, you get the pattern right?

Well, we all had fun on Saturday night, Jim, Yuanyuan, Vivian, Bruce and I went out bar hopped, and came back to the house to finish the night off, and we sure did! The night didn’t end until one nose-dove in to the bed, one hugged the toilet bowl, one cried out loud for no reason, one crashed on the couch (I will let you figure out who did who on your own) and myself chasing the cat around the house and wiping down the breakfast table with Windex 5am in the morning.

Full Circle

Geez! Has it really been almost a month since my last entry? Almost...

I have been multi-tasking lately, and entertaining a lot of guests. Work has been expanding in multiple fronts, supporting new product, managing new accounts, learning new things and screwing up on new tasks... Fun though, I must add, to work on a new product that’s closely tied to Intel, as the matter of fact, very closely linked to the group I was working in Intel-Shanghai. It has been interesting to be on the other side of the “Intel-fence”. I’d hear excuses Intel give me on their delayed deliverables, and realize how I was giving the similar excuses to my customers back when I was an Intel employee. What goes around comes around.
